Bokesch & Tipton, LLC is a CPA firm in Columbia, SC founded by Mark Bokesch and Sara Tipton. Our diverse backgrounds, education, and experience allow us to provide fresh perspectives to our clients. We believe that in order to provide the best services possible we must listen to our clients and gain an understanding of the challenges and opportunities that they face. We utilize our knowledge and experience to promote an open exchange of ideas between us and our clients so that we can provide the appropriate services and solutions that meet our clients’ needs.

C. Mark Bokesch, CPA, CVA, CFE

Originally from Mount Airy, North Carolina, Mark chose to make Columbia his home after attending the University of South Carolina Law School and the Moore School of Business where he earned his Juris Doctorate and Master of Taxation.

Mark has experience working with international and local accounting firms, and has built an impressive career in the tax, business valuation, and litigation realms. He is a Certified Public Accountant, as well as a Certified Valuation Analyst and Certified Fraud Examiner.
Mark believes one of the most rewarding parts of his career is not just helping clients achieve their goals, but being able to go one step further and exceed the client’s expectations. He believes that Bokesch & Tipton, LLC’s philosophy of fostering an open exchange of ideas with its clients greatly helps in being able to exceed clients’ expectations.

Mark also enjoys giving back to his community. He is an active member of Capital Rotary whose motto is “Service above self.” He has served as the club’s Treasurer, Secretary, President-Elect and President.

Sara E. Tipton, CPA, MBA

Sara is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee and attended the University of South Carolina for her undergraduate and masters degrees. She received a B.S. in both Accounting and Finance and a Masters in Business Administration. She has worked in the accounting departments of both a large privately held company and a publicly traded company before beginning her career in public accounting.

Sara is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified QuickBooks® ProAdvisor. She has experience in tax, financial statement preparation, and accounting systems. One of the greatest joys Sara gets from her work is being able to see her clients grow and succeed, knowing that she played an integral part in their success whether it was from helping establish a proper accounting system or preparing the financial statements that the client used to project its growth. Bokesch & Tipton, LLC’s philosophy of fostering an open exchange of ideas with its clients greatly helps in being able to understand the clients’ needs and assist them in meeting and exceeding their goals.

Sara is also active in her community, volunteering with several non-profit organizations
